I am not alone.? As I find other bloggers enamored by food and family I realize that my list of favorite blogs continues to grow.? This month I found several wonderful bloggers that I know you will love and appreciate as much as I do. Whether cooking,? recipes, food, gardening, family, random musings, or any other topic interests you, you?ll find a blogger passionate about it. Bloggers provide a service, they share their passion with everyone and anyone interested. Opinions are not kept to oneself, but shared with others. Recipes and tips are not harbored, but instead given away with the hope that someone will call out to their family, ?Hey guys, you want to make this really cool recipe I found from??
Here are the blogs that I have thoroughly enjoyed this month. They inspire me.? They get my creative juices flowing. They hold my attention for more than two minutes. I enjoy browsing their articles, salivating over their recipes, looking at their beautiful photographs, and reading about places I have to yet to visit, thankful that although I may never get there, I have an inside view. I appreciate the gifts and talents each one is given and I appreciate my ability to grow and glean from them.
Food for My Family is a beautiful blog. There?s so much to say about this blog. It?s beautiful, well organized and it has great topics like Manic Organic which features articles like The Truth about Salt and great supermarket tips and strategies. Going Green is great for gardeners or those who love to look at pictures of other?s gardens. You can learn about caring for seedlings or the many ways you can reuse old containers. From the Patio features great grilling recipes like Korean BBQ: Kogi Tacos When You Are Not in LA.? I also love Food for My Family?s One Deal Five Meals page!? How can you use heavy whipping cream to make five meals?? What are you waiting just click here to find out!
Simple Bites.? The pictures.? The food.? I need a napkin. The homestead.? The family. I need a tissue.? This blog warms my heart.? Simple Bites is a family-oriented community dedicated to all things food and drink. Bringing the whole family together around the table is their focus ? just like mine. Can I just say that I love them?? Being a wife and mom, a homeschool veteran and culinary instructor, I know the benefits of cooking together and gathering around the table together, and I completely appreciate this site. Simple Bites take the word simple seriously and offers comprehensive recipes, practical meal plans, and tried and true cooking tips. They also foster a desire to eat seasonally and locally which you know I love!? What?s 4 dinner, Kids in the Kitchen, spotlight ingredient and Pantry are some a few of the topics discussed on this blog.
Food 52. Love this blog. Love these girls. Want to know why? As a wife and mom who has loved cooking and food my entire life (not necessarily in that order ? it varies from day to day ? some days? I like to eat more than I like to cook. Some days I just want to cook, but I?m not that hungry (this doesn?t happen often, but it does happen on occasion). I was very fortunate because I cooked with my grandmother daily. I grew up in a family that ate dinner every night together. Around the dinner table. No distractions. We love food.? We love each other.
I spent 18 glorious years homeschooling, cooking for and nurturing my children and hubby. Well, I don?t homeschool my hubby, but I do cook for him, which he loves, and I take great joy in caring for him. Once I began hosting Cooking with Elise on NBC 17 in Raleigh, NC, organizations and businesses began asking me to compete in chef?s challenges against well-known restaurant chefs in our area. I happily take on these challenges and realized that, although I am not a trained chef, man, can I CAN COOK! Even though my competitors were executive chefs who had been classically trained, the owners of successful restaurants and obviously folks who loved food as well, I was more than capable to not only compete against them, but win each competition. Judges consistently tell me that it is my love and passion for cooking and food that gives me the edge and helps me win these competitions. I am grateful for lessons learned as a child.? One of the many reasons I love Food 52 is because these beautiful gals know that many home cooks make wonderful, if not the best, food! It?s the love that makes the food taste good! I love, love, love this blog and know that you will, too!
Do you have a question that needs a good answer?? Food 52 can help with their In a Pickle page. Their videos are very helpful and include things like? How to De-Kernel Corn, How to Shave Asparagus, or How to Make Almond Butter. They also feature weekly contests on their site.
This blog is a wonderful resource and is inspirational for all bloggers alike.? They insprie me to make Cooking with Elise an even better site, so that I can continue to encourage families to ?get into the kitchen and make memories!?

Oh, in case you don?t know, that handsome young man in the picture is my youngest son, Alexander. We love to cook together. Eat together. Laugh together. Play together. This day we were making his favorite Herb Biscuits together.? Fantastic?and the biscuits were good, too!
Happy cooking and happy eating! ~ Elise
