Next Wednesday, August 22, the ?Legal Issues for a Small Business? workshop will be held at the SBA Georgia District Office in Atlanta, Georgia, running from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm PDT.
The session is geared to save small business owners approximately $50,000 and at least 30 hours each month. The focus is on how to avoid timewasting and costly litigation.
For some small business owners with a great business idea, finding out if it is in use elsewhere can cost a fortune and present legal obstacles. During this workshop, participants will learn what corporation type allows businesses the best flexibility, yet offers the most legal protection. There will also be coverage on written agreements, how to write them, and which type will protect the business. Business owners will study how contracts, both for employees and sub-contractors, should be handled and written so each party understands clearly what they are signing. Information will be provided on where to find resources, exposure to business legal issues, and how to protect the business without wasting energy, money, and time in court resolving disputes.
The instructor for this session is Heather Wright, who attended Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law and has worked for Superior Court Judge, James G. Bodiford. After that, she worked for three large law firms and then opened her own in 2005 ? The Wright Firm, LLC. In 2008, she was introduced into the Supreme Court of the United States.
For any small business owner, new or established, or looking at a business for sale , this workshop will provide a surprising amount of legal information. Admission is $50 per person.
